    • What is theu0026nbsp;SIUCFA?What is the SIUC Faculty Association? The Faculty Association (FA) is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement and well-being of higher education in general and strives to ensure faculty rights and shared governance at our university in particular. The FA provides Faculty with a voice on issues in the university. It is the only organization that negotiates a binding contract between tenured/tenure-track Faculty and the administration. The FA provides Faculty with information about their rights and, if necessary, helps Faculty members to defend those rights, through grievance procedure which includes paid arbitrations. What are some of the things the Faculty Association has accomplished since its organization at SIUC in November 1996? Worked towards equity and parity in salaries: Overall higher salaries (on average 26% more than four years ago), Incorporation of equity payments into the formula for raises, Higher promotion raises for both associate and full professors, Making Faculty salaries at SIUC an issue the administration must address. Worked to secure faculty lines: Contract side-letter stating intent to maintain current faculty student ratios. Clarified procedures and strengthened due process: Ensured candidates’…
